Raven Solutions, LLC is pleased to announce a new service - booking appointments online. Through the BookNow! button located in the right side of each page on our website, you can now make an appointment in advance. Simply choose from three service levels:1) Home / Home-Based Business Support2) Remote Support3) Office / Small Business / Server Supportand select the person who you would like to have perform the work for you. That person’s availability appears on the screen, and you can block out time to have our personnel assist you with your issues. You’ll receive an email confirmation of the meeting which will be followed by a phone call from the Raven Solutions support consultant.We hope you like this new service! It should provide our customers with a higher level of service from a company you’ve come to trust.
Our rate structure for 2008 has changed:
If you are a home Mac user who needs assistance, or if you run a business from your residence, our hourly rate is now $60 per hour.
For our business customers with more critical needs, more equipment and official offices (not residence-based) our hourly rate is $120 per hour.
Part of the reason for this change is that Raven Solutions, LLC is now paying subcontractors who are experts in the Macintosh and networking worlds to provide a higher-level of support. This means that you will have greater access to our services and won’t have to wait to get an appointment.

A faster, better Safari:
Page load speeds with Safari for Leopard will be faster than any other browser. There are new features such as inline text searches, new tabbed browsing features, new PDF controls, and the ability to create widgets from websites.
Parental Controls:
Leopard now does a better job of monitoring the websites your kids visit and the people they chat with. You can also log the locations your kids are visiting so you know absolutely what they’re doing online.

Apple’s newest version of Mac OS X will be shipping October 26th, 2007. Raven Solutions can install and configure the new OS for you and troubleshoot any issues, all for the low price of $150! That may sound like a lot, but we will back up your data, perform a clean installation of the new OS, and re-install your applications and drivers for that price. Your Mac will be happy and productive when we’re done! Be sure to contact Steve for more information and to get on the schedule for your install.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting some features of Leopard here on the website. Our first has to do with the Dashboard. Have you ever wanted to make your own dashboard widgets? Leopard will give you that capability. You can create your very own widget from any website. Web Clip Widgets will be live, so when you open the widget you’ll get the latest content from the website.
Many Raven Solutions customers got their introduction to the world of Apple through the iPod, so there’s always a lot of interest in new iPod models when they’re released. Last week, Apple announced three new or upgraded models:
- The 3rd Generation iPod nano, which can now play video and has a wider screen
- The 6th Generation iPod, now in 80GB and 160GB models
- The iPod Touch, available in 8 and 16 GB versions. The Touch is essentially an iPhone without the phone capabilities or Bluetooth built in, but it does have Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity to the new iTunes Wi-Fi Store.
All of the new models follow the trend that Apple has been setting of making more and more devices out of recyclable metal and glass instead of plastic. This also has the side effect of making Apple’s new products more durable!
